PTE is a TOEFL-like test of English language proficiency. The PTE, like other tests, is used to evaluate the English communication abilities of non-native speakers and can help universities determine if a student can understand course material if it is taught entirely in English. As part of their immigration policies, some countries also use the PTE as a standard for English competence.
The PTE is available in two versions: PTE Academic and PTE General:

90 points.
No minimum score. Min 50-63 is qualifying for abroad opportunities.
